Hyndburn & Ribble Valley CVS Green Social Prescriber made the most of the sunshine at the Accrington Stanley Sports Hub Vegetable Garden on the 2nd April 2026.
It was a wonderfully productive day:
- 🍓 Strawberry beds planted and the herb garden refreshed, with added flowers to support our local bees
- 🫛 Planters filled and covered ready for peas and runner beans
- 🥔 Eight potato bags prepared and planted
- 🌻 Inside the greenhouse, they started off peas, runner beans, and tall sunflowers that will be moved outdoors once they’re strong enough
Hyndburn & Ribble Valley CVS said a huge thank you to the school community champions, and to Lee and Katherine from the hub, along with the brilliant grounds team for all their help. A proper team effort it was — and the garden is already looking fantastic!
