Ever wondered what the hyndburn Borough Council Parks and Open Spaces teams get up to in the autumn months? Just one of their many jobs is planting spring bulbs for next year’s blossom and this year we’ve planted an incredible number!
This autumn so far, our gardeners have planted over 15,000 bulbs in parks and green spaces across the borough! From Hyacinths to Alliums, Tulips to Crocus, Daffs to Muscari, these bulbs will offer a stunning array of colour next spring, sure to brighten up your local park!
What’s more, spring bulbs are essential for biodiversity as well! They are a much needed nectar source for those early rising pollinators – these will provide the first food source of the year. So, it’s a win for us, and a win for nature!

Want to do your bit? Spring bulbs are some of the easiest flower species to keep. Once planted, they require very little maintenance, just water and a bit of sun – some even prefer the shade. Why not grow some in your garden and enjoy the beautiful colours they offer at home.
