๐ŸŒธ ๐ŸŒผ Cutwood Park is getting its own wildflower meadow! ๐ŸŒผ ๐ŸŒธ
Work will begin on the creation of this wonderful wildflower patch on Monday 8th September and last for approximately 3 days. During this time, parts of the park will be closed due to the movement of heavy plant machinery on site (the footpaths highlighted on the map below)
Please note that the rest of the park, including the playgrounds, will remain open as normal.
Why are we doing this? Just 1% of the UK is now covered by native wildflower and Hyndburn Borough Council wants to do something about it! This newly created meadow, the largest such to be established in any of our Green Flag parks, will be sown with native wildflower species which will support our much needed and declining pollinator species ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿฆ‹
In addition to increasing Hyndburnโ€™s biodiversity, the meadow will bring a beautiful array of summer colour to this corner of Rishton. ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿชป๐ŸŒบ
