🌻 Reap what you sow….and we certainly have! Less than 12 months on from Hyndburn’s largest native wildflower meadow was sown in Cutwood Park, Rishton, it’s looking stunning in the glorious sunshine. 🌹
🐝 It is now awash with colour, and is already on its way to becoming a great food and nectar source for our bees and butterflies. This meadow is truly alive with nature, and has transformed this area of Cutwood Park, Rishton’s own Green Flag park!
What can you see? Annual species such as Corncockle, Cornflower, Corn Marigold and Common Poppy providing the splash of colour this year will slowly give way to over 20 perennial species such as Selfheal, Yarrow, Yellow Rattle, Meadow Buttercup, which will come back year after year for our wonderful pollinators to feed on.
Take a look next time you’re passing, it’s well worth a look
