What a result!
Our sociable squad of eight volunteers took on the invasive Himalayan balsam at the rear of Arden Woods — and scored a massive win for biodiversity.
After an evening of plucking, snapping and stamping, a large area is now clear, giving native species space to thrive and support the woodland ecosystem

Along the way we learned a few fun facts — there’s a wildflower possibly named after our Vice Chair (Herb Robert) and fungi can stack impressively on trees (Artist’s Bracket)
A huge thank‑you to everyone who came out and made it such a pleasant summer evening full of teamwork, laughter and environmental care
